Flags boost fundraise by London Cardiff 24 challenge

cancer research fundraiserHampshire Flag Company has played a key role in helping to raise money for Cancer Research UK by donating tear drop flags to the UK’s longest non-stop team relay race. The country’s leading flag manufacturer produced 24 tear drop flags for London Cardiff 24– a 160 mile/24 hour challenge which has raised more than £20,000 for the charity. London Cardiff 24 began in London and finished at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, and 14 teams took part with eight finishing properly.

The 4m tear drop flags features ‘Checkpoint’ wording, the Cancer Research UK logo and the London Cardiff 24 brand colours on a white background. The tear drop flags were printed on a DuPont Artistri 2020 machine and were situated at checkpoints along the relay race route.

Ross Herringshaw, Event Organiser for London Cardiff 24 said, “The race is now in its second year and has become a great success. It one of the toughest challenges to undertake due to the distance and lack of sleep, and we are delighted with the number of applicants and the money raised for Cancer Research UK. “Having the tear drop flags made such a difference to the route. They not only added colour and really stood out, but gave a focal point for all the teams to cluster around which acted as a morale boost for the teams. Hampshire Flag were extremely generous to have donated the 24 flags, poles and bases and we really appreciate their support,” added Ross.

Different types of teams entered the challenge – those wanting to simply complete the race, those wanting to beat the 24 hour clock and those who want to set a new fastest record. The fastest time this year was just over 23 and a half hours.
